A proprietary blend of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Syrah, 20% Malbec, 14% Merlot, this wine is drinking spectacularly in its youth, but has the pedigree and structure to develop in the cellar for 10+ years. Layers of cherry, creme de cassis, mocha, spicebox, tobacco, and sweet oak come come together in this wine that melds power, finesse, and sophistication in perfect harmony. Fans of Napa reds should not miss this wine. Aged for 20 months in 60% new French oak. 93pts from Robert Parker.
When I met Matt Buoncristiani up at the Caves at Soda Canyon, high above Napa Valley, I had tasted the Buoncristiani wines before so I knew how seriously they take their craft. I wasn't aware of just how stunning the Caves at Soda Canyon were. I highly, highly recommend that any visit to Napa Valley includes a visit to the caves. If you don't get out to Napa regularly, add this to your bucket list - you won't be sorry. Good times, great wine, and better people. In June of 2015, Robert Parker had this to say about Buoncristiani Family Winery, "this winery merits serious attention and I hope it receives it, because it does seem to me to be a producer that's somewhat under the radar. I immensely enjoy the wines from this winery."
Buoncristiani Family Winery is run by four brothers - Matt, Jay, Aaron & Nate - who were born and raised in the Napa Valley from a long lineage of Italian winemakers and wine lovers. They take pride in performing all aspects of enology, viticulture, wine production, and art design in order to share with you a true expression of their winemaking passion. Their motto is "quality not quantity" and Buoncristiani's wines are crafted without compromise.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
