This is another very impressive vintage of the Calluna Cuveé which is an expertly crafted, Bordeaux-style red from Sonoma's Chalk Hill AVA. This wine is rich, yet impeccably balanced, with firm tannins and bright acidity to go along with depth, precision, and complexity usually reserved for wines at much higher price points. This is one of our best selling red wines and for very good reason. This wine is drinking beautifully in its youth but has the structure and pedigree to develop in the cellar for 10+ years. 47% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot. 92pts from Wine Enthusiast. 1,400 cases produced.
Calluna has been a long time dream for proprietor, Davide Jeffrey. His love for old world, classically styled wines began with Bordeaux and Burgundy but were solidified after drinking stunning examples from Napa Valley, Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains. The desire to create a winery of his own led David to change careers in 2001 at the age of 44 and enroll in Fresno State’s Oenology and Viticulture program. Two years later he found himself working in the cellar at Chateau Quinault l’Enclos in St Emilion for Dr. Alain Raynaud.Learn More
