Winestyr Review

The Division Winemaking Co. 2020 l'Orange is perhaps the best domestic orange wine we've tried. Let us say it again...the best orange wine we've ever tried! Perhaps it's the invaluable winemaking chops of Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe. Or perhaps, it's the blend of Roussanne, Riesling, Chenin, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Viognier. Regardless, this is just flat out delicious.

The Winery

Division Winemaking Company

Inspired by the wineries of Loire, Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhone where they first learned winemaking and viticulture, the urban winery creates Oregon and Washington wines including Pinot Noir, Gamay, Chardonnay, Rosé, Chenin, Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Cot, Syrah, Grenache, and Sauvignon Blanc. Determined to make approachable and balanced wines though minimal manipulation, Kat and Tom have a passion to work with well farmed, terroir-expressive vineyards, many of which are organic and/or Biodynamic, celebrating the varietals the winemakers love to drink.

Loved that this came in my subscription - so much fun to try a wine I never would have considered before. Didn't love it, but really enjoyed the experience of learning and tasting this wine.
