Coming from Evening Land's esteemed Seven Springs Vineyard, it's evident why the team is so excited about this site's potential with Chardonnay. The wines from here are always mineral driven and this is no different, showcasing why the world needs to take Willamette Valley Chardonnay seriously right now.
"We are, first and foremost, faithful stewards of the historic Seven Springs vineyard, planted by Oregon wine pioneer Al MacDonald in 1984. On this dramatic east-facing slope, in the iron-rich and rocky, volcanic soils of the Eola-Amity Hills, Al MacDonald undertook what would become one of Oregon's most recognized vineyards. Nestled against a forest of Douglas fir with views eastward to Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson, it is immediately evident to any visitor why Al chose this site." - Evening Land Vineyards
Evening Land Vineyards is one of Oregon's foremost producers of exceptional Burgundian varietals. With a focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gamay, winemakers Sashi Moorman, Rajat Parr, and Ben DiCristina channel the depth, complexity, and subtleness of the old world with sustainably-grown fruit from the Seven Springs Vineyard in Oregon. Fruit from this exalted vineyard led Evening Land to receive Oregon's first 98pt scoring Pinot Noir from Wine Spectator and the wines have continued to garner critical acclaim from virtually every critic and publication.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself.
