Winestyr Review

The first vintage of Hirsch's Reserve Pinot Noir was 2009, when David Hirsch decided the estate's oldest vines were ready to be the stars of their own show. Just over half the production went through whole cluster and only 10% new oak was used. This is a Pinot Noir with plenty to offer now but I can only wonder what another 5-10 years might yield from this pinnacle wine of the Sonoma Coast. 94pts Robert Parker.

Hirsch Vineyards

Perched on a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Fort Ross, where the San Andreas fault meets the ocean, Hirsch Vineyards is the birth ground of great pinot noir on the extreme Sonoma Coast. Founded by David Hirsch in 1980, the wines of Hirsch Vineyards exude a natural balance and consistency. This complex, unique site produces fruit and wines of unusual acidity and balance with a vintage specific concentration of pinot noir or chardonnay fruit. These wines have built a cult following for good reason and can be enjoyed now or laid down for future consumption.

Amazing. I put this wine in my Top 5 All Time. We saved one bottle and put it on the shelf to save for 5-10 years like they recommended.
