Some 50 years ago, Robert Mondavi changed the game for Sauvignon Blanc in Napa, aging the wine in new French oak barrels and calling it Fumé Blanc. This is made in that classic style, having been barrel fermented in 30% new oak. The wine is luxurious in every way, fleshed out and chiseled but with a crisp, bright finish.
Lail Vineyards is the culmination of more than 100 years in the Napa Valley wine business. Robin's great-granduncle founded Inglenook Vineyards in 1879 and her father, John Daniel Jr., carried Inglenook's legacy forward from Prohibition until the winery's sale in 1964. Needless to say, the history and pedigree of this winemaking family is undeniable!
