Coming from the organic Brueske Vineyard in Carneros, this is a Pinot Noir that defies the classic notions of what the grape is "supposed" to be. Extremely high toned raspberry and pomegranate with an almost chalky finish. Put a slight chill on this wine for the first glass and wait until the wine opens up into its full, flowery potential.
Diego and Shaunt have one of the most unique winery setups in the country, if not the world. Tucked into the hills above Orinda, which is just a few minutes outside of Oakland, this duo crafts their flagship natural wines in the raised basement of Shaunt’s family home. That’s right, they lifted the house to make sure the cellar (er...basement) had room for their barrel stacks. It’s a true bootstrap operation but one that has yielded incredible wines beloved by natural wine enthusiasts.
