This Clairette Blanche is sourced from Paper Street Vineyard, a new site right next to Glenrose Vineyard where Paix Sur Terre gets much of their best fruit. A rare grape to find here in the U.S., Clairette Blanche calls France's Southern Rhône Valley home and can be found in the region's most famous wine. Characterized by slightly lower acidity and a more full mouth feel, this is a wine we don't get much of and are lucky to offer.
Paix Sur Terre was created in 2010 by Ryan and Nicole Pease with the goal of producing a portfolio of mineral driven single vineyard Mourvedres along with small lots of Grenache, Syrah and Mediterranean style whites. Grapes are sourced from stunning vineyards on the west side of Paso Roble. The fruit is always picked keeping freshness in mind to express a balance of mouthwatering, savory, and mineral qualities.
Paix Sur Terre, French for "Peace on Earth," is the name Ryan and Nicole Pease chose for their winery which they started in 2010. They focus on balanced, mineral-driven wines made in small lots with fruit from some of California's best vineyards. They've developed quite a penchant for making some of the best Mourvedre, Grenache, Syrah, and mediterranean-style whites coming out of California today and have garnered some serious critical acclaim for their efforts.More from this winery
Are the wines any good? Yes, they are and we taste every wine that is considered for our site. We seek out the best wines from the best small-producers in the U.S. and Winestyr is a collection of our favorites. Most of the wines have impressive accolades, however, don't look for "expert" ratings here - we think it's more important to buy wines you find interesting and to decide for yourself. This white makes me like whites. Loved the fullness and smooth finish.
