The Populis 2022 White Blend is a beautifully mineral wine that is made up of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Albariño, Orange Muscat, and Colombard. On one hand, it calls for the final days of summer and patio living but on the other, there's a complexity that is built for all seasons.
Diego and Shaunt have one of the most unique winery setups in the country, if not the world. Tucked into the hills above Orinda, which is just a few minutes outside of Oakland, this duo crafts their flagship natural wines in the raised basement of Shaunt’s family home. That’s right, they lifted the house to make sure the cellar (er...basement) had room for their barrel stacks. It’s a true bootstrap operation but one that has yielded incredible wines beloved by natural wine enthusiasts.
