The 2017 Tobias Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerhouse of a wine showcasing the best of a true Napa Valley terroir, Howell Mountain. Inky in the glass, the wine bursts with blackberry and cassis, cigar box and cedar, then finishes with a dizzying array of savory spices and earth. The family influence from Forman Vineyard is clear in this wine which will age beautifully for 10-15 years.
Tobias Vineyards is a true family winery, run by husband and wife team Toby Forman and Dawn Pauli-Forman, perched high above the fog line on Napa's Howell Mountain. With much of their lives spent apprenticing for their winemaking fathers, Ric Forman and Bill Pauli, Toby and Dawn set out to honor their families' heritages while crafting their own legacy. Toby and Dawn hosted Winestyr at their tasting room in the summer of 2019 and even with our first taste of wine, it was a no-brainer to work together. Three generations of industry knowledge, intense commitment to farming, and an eye towards accessible yet esteemed wines are the hallmarks of this estate.
