This is another beautiful 2011 - a vintage that was notoriously cold and difficult in Napa and Sonoma - but the best of this vintage results in great wines with depth and complexity akin to some of the best old world wines. The 2011 Viluko Cabernet is an elegant, sleek, and sophisticated mountain Cabernet style. The oak is well integrated and this wine was expertly crafted by expert winemaker Timothy Milos. True to form, this is another great wine from Viluko - although you might want to lay it down for a few years. If not, be sure to decant for at least an hour. 815 cases produced.
Viluko Vineyards is a true mountain winery producing intense and complex Cabernet Sauvignon and beautiful Sauvignon Blanc with fruit grown on their Estate Vineyard in the Mayacamas mountains. Acclaimed winemaker Timothy Milos works closely with the Arroyo family whose winemaking legacy began in Chile. The wines are stunning and this small-production winery is one to watch in the coming years.
